Aftermarket A/C Shroud - fits Dometic Penguin Duo Therm - White

It came in a timely manner. The only reason I gave it four stars is because it only had four mounting holes pre drilled, I thought it should have at least six. I drilled out the two that I thought it should have. Overall I am completely satisfied.

I bought two ICON replacement AC shrouds for my motorhome to repair hail damage. The installation took about ten minutes for each shroud. I picked the ICON parts because of the warranty and price. The quality was better than the factory parts and the fit was perfect. I would highly recommend these shrouds to anyone needing a replacement.

Ordered shrouds for both motorhome air conditioners. Excellent fit. Had only 4 mounting holes while original had 6. Easy to provide two more holes on new shroud. Had to buy foam weatherseal which took a while to get foam installed in proper positions. Would really have liked to have foam weatherseal pre-installed.

Time will tell on durability, but fit and finish is good. They are thinner than the originals, but if they remain flexible over time they should hold up well. As others have noted, the foam strips are not included, so i purchased some at the local hardware store and fastened it on with double faced high temp mounting tape. I would buy again. I would prefer to see them shipped with FED EX. UPS can't get to my house before 9:30 PM.

Original shroud had foam strips which I assume were positioned to control air flow. No advice came with replacement and contour of both made new and original made placement of foam challenging to say the least. Eventually affixed foam to top of coil and elsewhere to force intake through refrigerant coils. Guidelines would have been appreciated.

Aside from the fact that it's only been mounted on the RV a week and hasn't left the driveway so I can't comment on durability, these are positives:

-- Easy replacement to find as web site couples model numbers in conjunction with part description.

-- Mounting is a snap. Holes match preexisting holes. Unless you want to use the OEM rusted screws, purchase new ones. I added 1" washers to SS screws to distribute some of the pressure over the *plastic*.

-- Received in 4 workdays from date of order.

Exact fit, screw holes and all;very pleased but even more pleased with the icondirect website. This was the only website I found where I was 99% confident that I was ordering the proper item. Icondirect showed pictures, dimensions and Dometic model Nos. that the shroud would fit. No other website that I tried had this much info., thereby leaving uncertainty about what I would be getting and whether it would fit.

While the Icon Schroud is not an exact replacement for the Duo Therm, it's about as close as it can get. I must agree that it is built in a far superior quality than the original is and will surely outlive me. There are only minor cosmetic differences in the Icon. If your replacing your Penguin cover and it's on the older side (mine is a 2002), your going to have to buy some gasket material to seal the top of the A/C unit against the inside of the shroud. The screw holes lined up perfectly and the fit was very snug. All in all, an excellent replacement.
